VIOLETTE VISIONS EARLY LEARNING CENTER STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The philosophy of Violette Visions ELC is based on the belief that each child unique, with individual needs, interests, and talents. This individuality will be respected and encouraged. It is OUR responsibility as child care professionals to adapt to each child, to provide each with a stimulating environment and developmentally appropriate program, so that s/he may grow physically, emotionally, mentally and socially. We provide learning experiences, enabling children to reach their fullest potential, to gain confidence, independence, and self-esteem. Our caring and responsive teachers encourage the children to grow at their own pace, to express their creativity and imagination. We provide a safe, secure physical environment designed to allow children to explore, succeed, and develop a love of learning through play. Phone inquiries are followed by a visit to the center. Parents are encouraged to bring children with them for the initial visit. Upon arrival they are taken on a tour of the center with emphasis on the prospective classroom. Parents and children are introduced to the teacher and children of the prospective group. They may observe the group’s activities and the visiting child may participate if willing. The child may remain with the group or accompany the parents to the office for a discussion of our program and our policies. The parents are encouraged to discuss the specific needs/ wants of their child, especially those relating to a smooth adjustment, allergies, or any anticipated problems.
