TRANSPORTATION PLAN Violette Visions Early Learning Center does not provide transportation for children. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from the center. As an important security measure we ask that all parents sign their children into and out of the center and that they be certain that their children's arrival or departure has been acknowledged by the teacher who is at that time responsible for their child. The sign in & out does not replace regular attendance records for which the teachers are responsible. EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION If a child is injured at the center an ambulance or parent will be called to transport the child to the hospital or, at the parent's request, a staff member may transport the child. Auto Insurance is provided through Insurance Marketing Agencies of Worcester. If the child is transported by ambulance a staff member will accompany the child, with the child's file containing emergency medical permission and health forms. If a staff member transports the child another staff member will accompany them, bringing the child's file etc. The staff will stay with the child until the parent arrives. AMBULANCE OR CAR If the child is in stable condition and should be treated but does not require immediate attention by an EMT the ambulance would not be called. For example, the situation is under control and the child's condition is such that it will not worsen by taking the time to call the parent. An ambulance would be called if : The child is unconscious or the situation seems critical and taking the time to call the parent would be placing the child in jeopardy. Staff are uncertain as to whether the child should be moved. Staff are hesitant to take responsibility for transporting the child. Any situation where there is any question as to whether an ambulance is required. 7.12 |
